Product details
Berg is a district of Mechernich in the Euskirchen district of North Rhine-Westphalia. The local mayor is Ferdinand Ley. The village is located on the edge of the Zülpicher Börde, marking the transition to the Eifel region. Surrounding the village are the places Vlatten and Hergarten from the Düren district, as well as Bürvenich and Glehn from the Euskirchen district. The main road of the village is Kreisstrasse 10. Berg was first mentioned in connection with the water castle Berg in the year 1350. In the past, there were two churches in the village. In addition to the current parish church of St. Peter, there was also a pilgrimage chapel dedicated to St. Willibrord. Historically, copper mining and copper smelting were carried out in Berg.
