The provision of eBay transaction data for information condensation describes, using the example of the auction portal eBay, the opportunities that arise from the use of current web technologies in the field of data aggregation and condensation. The aim of this work is to introduce the reader to the topic through a targeted task, while explaining the underlying technologies with examples. In this context, a prototypical implementation is also carried out, and it is demonstrated using sample code in the SQL database language how quickly information about market trends can be accessed or sales graphs can be generated after processing the transaction data. Finally, the result is critically examined, and a perspective on further possibilities is provided, which arise from the networking of freely accessible information.
