Benchmarking im Krankenhaus

Benchmarking is an important controlling instrument for planning and control processes in companies. It enables a systematic quantitative and qualitative comparison of similar companies. By using this instrument, companies can assess their market position in the competitive environment and identify and exploit potential for improvement. In the hospital sector, it makes sense to use the InEK cost data as a benchmarking analysis. They have a high informative value, as they represent the revenues of a hospital. The authors therefore carry out benchmarking on the basis of the InEK cost data at DRG level using the example of a model hospital and derive implementation options for the practice from this. The basis is a previously developed application-oriented approach.
