Bedeutung von Kinderlosigkeit in der Biografie

The social phenomenon of childlessness is examined based on autobiographical narrative interviews with childless women and men who are transitioning to old age or are already in the third phase of life. From a norm- and autonomy-theoretical perspective, the individual subjective meaning of childlessness in the life course is reconstructed against the background of empirically derived biographically relevant levels of meaning: relationships and behavior towards traditional family norms, dealing with ambivalences, relationships, employment, and age.
