After "emotional intelligence" the big topic of applied psychology: the "intuitive intelligence"
"The heart has its reasons that the mind does not know," wrote Blaise Pascal as early as the 17th century. For a long time science shied away from the "reasons of the heart" or even gut decisions like the devil shied away from holy water. But: Good decisions are often based on an unconscious intelligence that operates very quickly and is fascinatingly simple, especially in complex situations, confident in recognizing the essential and far superior in logical considerations. Today's knowledge about gut feeling revolutionizes our image of the human mind. In a complicated world, decisions "from the gut" teach us the art of living, paradoxically formulated, to know intuitively what is not worth knowing.
