Bastelbogen 'Haus am Horn 1923'

The House at Horn was built according to the design of the youngest Bauhaus master, painter Georg Muche, for the first major Bauhaus exhibition in 1923, and was furnished with the help of students from various Bauhaus workshops. On a square footprint of 12.7 x 12.7 m, Muche arranged the kitchen and dining room, children's room, sleeping, working, and guest rooms around the elevated central living space in a ship cabin-like manner. The modern technical equipment of the kitchen, bathroom, and heating, as well as low-maintenance floor and wall surfaces, were intended to make housework easier. The project experimented with the latest construction techniques and materials, such as three-layer walls made of large-format lightweight concrete blocks with an insulating layer of peat in between, to save on construction effort and heating energy. This model kit allows you to faithfully recreate the House at Horn. The roof sections are removable, so the layout of the house remains visible.
