Handbuch Basketball

The new Basketball Manual follows in the footsteps of the Basketball Manual first published in 1972, which is the standard work for coaching education in the German Basketball Federation. Since the last edition, the game of basketball has rapidly evolved, becoming more complex and diverse. This new manual takes this into account.

All important aspects of playing and coaching are comprehensively presented: the historical foundations of the game, physical and psychological demands of play with derived training content, methodological approaches to teaching the fundamentals of the game, basic technical and tactical skills and abilities in both offense and defense, options for training and competition management, basic sports medicine knowledge, nutrition topics, and the issue of doping.

The manual also provides information about important basketball-related sports organizations, basketball as a school sport, FIBA 3x3 basketball, beach and mixed basketball, wheelchair basketball, as well as mini and senior basketball.
