Basel in portraits

In Lucian Hunziker's photo series, around 40 celebrities from Basel and the surrounding area are portrayed in a variety of styles. To this end, the artist picks up stylistic elements of the most innovative portrait photographers from the 19th to the 21st century and stages, for example, Journalist -minu in the aesthetics of David Lachappelle, Nobel Prize winner Rolf Zinkernagelin in reference to Julia Margaret Cameron or quotes the visual language of Horst P.Horst in the portrait of the singer Nubya. The result is a photographic journey through the last 150 years, which at the same time is a documentary tour horizon of Basel's cultural, sporting, social and political personalities.
