The concept focuses on the abilities of perception, communication and movement. Basal stimulation is a form of holistic, body-based communication for people with significant disabilities. Specifically, they describe key areas of nursing action with regard to breathing, bathing, rubs (ASE), full and partial washing, dressing, positioning, mouth care, mobilization, positioning, washing and swallowing support.
