Peace is possible. But it is not a given - not between nations, not in interpersonal relationships, not with nature and the environment. Wars, terrorist attacks, oppression, abuse of power and sexual abuse, environmental destruction daily demonstrate its fragility in a shocking manner. Creating and maintaining peace requires the courage to step out of the cycle of violence and to dare an alternative way of life. Strengthening this courage and fostering solidarity is the aim of the texts and worship models presented here. Various liturgical forms (devotion, Word of God celebration, Eucharistic celebration, political night prayer, among others) and numerous occasions throughout the year invite prayer for peace in all its dimensions and support for the peace movement across denominational boundaries.
