Recovering Health
Based on the Simontons' experiences with hundreds of patients at their world-renowned cancer counseling and research center, "Recovering Health" introduces the scientific foundations of the will to live.
In this groundbreaking book, the Simontons present the typical cancer personality: how an individual's reactions to stress and other emotional factors can contribute to the onset and progression of cancer—and how positive expectations, self-awareness, and self-care can aid in survival. This book offers the same self-help techniques that the Simontons' patients have successfully used to enhance conventional medical treatment—techniques for learning positive attitudes, relaxation, visualization, goal setting, pain management, exercise, and building an emotional support system.
