The treatment of literary texts is still far from common in foreign language teaching at many schools and unfortunately rarely finds its way into everyday lessons. For this reason, the present work focuses on the creative engagement with literary texts in Spanish classes. It explains how creative reception and processing methods can be effectively integrated into the classroom and what potential the treatment of literary works offers in an otherwise often very factual lesson context. Additionally, the work includes three concrete task examples based on the text 'Abdel' by Enrique Páez, which can be associated with the relevant high school topic of 'migratory movements'.
