The Norwegian, who also lived and worked in Germany for a time, received recognition for his works during his lifetime and is now considered a pioneer of Expressionism. With Munch, his graphic biography is now available, a unique project in which comic artist Steffen Kverneland tells the story exclusively through quotes from Munch and his contemporaries. By juxtaposing Munch's works with selected quotes, Kverneland creates a charming and highly amusing portrait of this great painter and the surrounding Scandinavian bohemia of the late 19th century.
