Product details
The current social system of the Federal Republic of Germany is almost exclusively supported by existing social insurances. These insurances are intended to cover the major life risks of old age, illness, need for care, unemployment, and disability. But is this protection really sufficient, or is there a financing alternative that guarantees each individual a personal income? This alternative could be called unconditional basic income. It is granted and guaranteed solely based on our existence, without any compensation. However, is this alternative truly financially viable if there is no incentive for employment? How does each individual react to the guarantee of an income? Do I reduce my working hours, or is it worthwhile for couples to each work part-time? Could it potentially decrease undeclared work? Or does this idea turn out to be just hot air, as financial viability simply does not exist? These and other intriguing questions are addressed, and possible impacts are described.
