The liberalization and globalization of financial markets have led investors to take advantage of global investment opportunities. At the same time, the diversity and complexity of financial products seem almost immeasurable. The financial crisis triggered in 2007 shook confidence in the financial markets and sparked renewed discussions about strengthening investor protection. It was not until April 2011 that new regulations aimed at protecting investors came into effect with the law to strengthen investor protection and improve the functioning of the capital market. The focus of the new law is on improving product transparency, protecting against misadvice, and fundamentally strengthening financial supervision. This work evaluates the central new regulations in investor protection law, taking into account the reorganization of financial market supervision.
