Almost all autistic individuals share the feeling of not speaking the same language as those around them. When a diagnosis is made, there is often a great sense of relief at first. What remains are various overwhelming situations and the pressure to function in the world of non-autistic people. This book provides individuals with autism spectrum disorders a small toolkit: it encourages a more conscious engagement with their own peculiarities, promotes acceptance of their strengths and weaknesses, and fosters new self-confidence.
