Auswirkungen ausländischer Direktinvestitionen auf die nigerianische Wirtschaft

This research examines the effects of foreign direct investment (FDI) on the development of the Nigerian economy. The main objective of this study was to determine whether foreign direct investments have an impact on the development of the Nigerian economy. Additional goals included identifying the nature and extent of foreign direct investments, the significance of foreign direct investments for Nigeria, and exploring ways to increase foreign direct investments. A review of relevant literature revealed that while foreign direct investments contribute to economic development, they can also have some negative effects. Data presentation utilized tables and percentages, while the chi-square method was employed to test the hypotheses. Based on the findings, it was concluded that foreign direct investments contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy; however, the government needs to implement favorable economic policies and mitigate the negative impacts of certain foreign direct investments. Consequently, the alternative hypothesis stating that foreign direct investments contribute to the development of the Nigerian economy was accepted, meaning H1 was upheld while Ho was rejected.
