Aufgewachsen in Fürth in den 40er und 50er Jahren

For us children and young people, the 1940s and 1950s were an often difficult but eventful time. Kindergarten and school were marked by the ideological indoctrination of the National Socialist rulers, but there was still room for enjoyable experiences even in everyday wartime life. Fürth was relatively spared bombing raids, and even when the Americans invaded, there was no major destruction. Nevertheless, the end of the war changed everything for this generation. After days of looting and chaos, a new normality set in, in which reconstruction and a different way of living together gradually developed.
