In the course of the awakening and reform movements after the First World War, a part of the Wandervogel and academic youth met the more theosophically influenced Anthroposophical Society and demanded the practical realization of spiritual science in daily life with an unprecedented vehemence, which led to considerable tensions between younger and older generations. As this book shows, it is essentially thanks to the younger generation that anthroposophy could be made fruitful in so many areas of life today. Using unpublished materials, Christiane Haid describes hitherto little-known chapters in the history of the Anthroposophical Society - such as the university courses of the 1920s, the Jena Zwätzen Pedagogical Working Group, the Free Anthroposophical Society, the Section for the Spiritual Striving of Youth, or the Kamp de Stakenberg. In the process, the description turns history into the living present, from which future tasks can be read.
