Author's Bio
Jon Krakauer, born in 1954, works as a science journalist for American magazines. He became world-famous with the million-selling book "Into Thin Air," in which he recounts the survival struggle of climbers on Mount Everest. He has received numerous awards for his reports. His other works available in German include: "Into the Wild," "Under the Banner of Heaven," and "Into the Wild" (adapted into a film by Sean Penn). In his latest book, "The Fields of Honor," he depicts the tragedy of the most famous volunteer in the U.S. Army. Jon Krakauer lives with his wife in Boulder, Colorado.
