Auf den Flügeln der Morgenröte

I was heavily dependent on alcohol for 20 years. I didn't see friends die; I saw them perish. I narrowly escaped death myself. As a binge drinker, I always had to maintain my alcohol level. I survived several severe deliria and suicide attempts, drinking methanol, ethanol, basically anything that would get me intoxicated, without regard for my health. In 1995, I turned myself into the authorities after failing to report for a sentence. This radical step completely changed my life. During my 9-month imprisonment, I reflected on my childhood love, nature, and began writing romantic poetry. After my release in 1995, I still had to complete a fine, and the city library offered me a chance to do so. Experienced librarians, who recognized my poetic talent, introduced me to German Romanticism of the 18th century. Thanks to their help, I found my great role models, such as Eichendorff, Nikolaus Lenau, Karoline von Günderrode, and C. Brentano. The German National Library has recorded 37 works by me so far. Johann Gottlieb Fichte became my favorite philosopher.
