Atomenergie

The volume provides an overview of the historical and current conflict lines surrounding nuclear energy and facilitates an understanding of the ongoing debates. It begins with the development of nuclear energy and its military and commercial applications, then covers geopolitical, energy economic, and institutional aspects, and concludes with the two topics that are currently being controversially discussed in Germany and beyond: the phase-out of nuclear energy, which is placed in the European and global context, and the issue of the disposal of high-level radioactive waste.
