Asperger's autism and high-functioning autism in adults.

Unlike previously assumed, Asperger's syndrome and autism spectrum disorders have a prevalence of about 1% and are quite common. One reason for the increasing prevalence is the fact that more and more high-functioning individuals are being recognized and diagnosed as affected in adulthood.
