Aspekte einer Architektur – Entwurfslehre

How do you teach architectural design? What topics do the designs address, how do you teach students to act and react, and how do you guide them to insights?

From 2017 to 2022, architect Antje Freiesleben, based in Berlin, held a professorship in building theory and design at the University of Siegen. Together with Annelen Schmidt-Vollenbroich, she supervised designs in the Studio Antje Freiesleben with groups of up to 66 students. They explored various aspects of communal living and working, as well as coexistence, supported by exercises, seminars, lectures, excursions, summer schools, and the lecture series Einwurf.

This book, richly illustrated, documents the work of the studio. It examines different aspects of teaching and designing architecture and offers exciting insights into today's architectural education.
