Since 1953, the Kulturkreis der deutschen Wirtschaft im BDI e. V. has awarded the annual ars viva prize for visual arts to outstanding young artists living in Germany whose works reveal an independent formal language and an awareness of contemporary issues in relation to (cultural) history. This year the prize is linked to exhibitions at the Goethe-Institut Paris and the Haus der Kunst, Munich.
