Are We Human?

"Are We Human" redefines the design philosophy in a multifaceted investigation: from the first tools and adornments to the constant background noise of social media. An average day includes thousands of design experiences of various kinds that affect our environment but also penetrate deeply into our bodies and brains. Even the Earth itself has been completely enveloped by design as a geological layer. There is no longer an "outside" to the world of design; design has become our world. Design is what defines humanity. It is the foundation of social life. However, design also creates inequalities and new forms of neglect such as lawlessness and poverty. At the same time, climate, as well as the human genome and weather, are actively being reshaped. We can no longer be certain of the notion of "good design." The design itself must be redesigned.
