Architekturführer Basel

Basel is the most important city of architecture in Switzerland. There are buildings by internationally renowned architectural firms here, some of which are also based in Basel. Almost twenty years ago, the Architekturmuseum Basel published the Architekturführer Basel . This standard work comprehensively documented the architectural history of the city and its surroundings. The book was out of print for a long time, but now an updated and expanded edition is finally available. All buildings are newly photographed, the existing texts are revised and adapted to the latest state of research. In addition, all relevant buildings that have been built in the last twenty years are recorded and described. The guide shows how the early Celtic settlements gradually developed into the city we know today, and how this is reflected in its buildings. The publication contains floor plans, name and place names.
