What topics concern young female and male architects? What inspires them in their work? How do they see their role in society? What do they want to achieve with their architecture?

The book portrays 16 young Swiss architects under the age of 40 who have taken the leap into self-employment and practice their profession with great passion. Despite very different tasks, they all advocate for a more specific architecture. From the existing, they strive to think anew. They want to create identity with their buildings, continue to develop places, while simultaneously utilizing existing qualities and maintaining traditions. They spare no effort for this; what matters is the result. The constructed should once again be architectural art and evoke a poetic atmosphere.

With images by Christian Helmle. He lives and works as a freelance photographer in Thun and has published several photo books on topics such as architecture, landscapes, and nature. For him, the most important aspect of photography is recognition, seeing – and before seeing, discovering situations.
