Architecture Dialogues. Positions - Concepts - Visions

For decades, Swiss architecture has enjoyed an unbroken outstanding reputation worldwide, while the world's structure has changed dramatically. But how do the Swiss architects react to the changes? What impulses are currently emanating from them? In the Dialogue Architecture project, eight interviewers question 30 well-known Swiss architects about the focal points, trends and outlooks of their theoretical considerations and practical work. In the discussion, they are not only asked to formulate their constructive, conceptual as well as aesthetic standpoints linguistically, but also to draw conclusions about the future of their discipline from the challenges at the beginning of the 21st century. The views collected in this reading book provide information on the one hand about the possibilities and limits of the architects' complex tasks and responsibilities, as articulated by the architects themselves. On the other hand, this snapshot could also enliven the architectural discourse beyond Switzerland.
