The increasing industrialization and rapid population growth have significantly intensified water pollution worldwide. The decline of natural water resources has become a serious limitation for industrial growth and an adequate standard of living in large cities. Environmental protection agencies have enacted stricter regulations to safeguard the water environment. Nowadays, wastewater treatment is very important due to high freshwater consumption and the discharge of heavily polluted water. Many technologies are employed to reduce organic and inorganic substances in wastewater. This chapter examines the application of various technologies for the treatment of industrial wastewater, highlighting the necessity to develop an effective treatment method with low operating costs for industrial wastewater treatment.
