Annette von Droste-Hülshoff. Grimms Albtraum

The poetess Annette von Droste-Hülshoff robs the fairy tale collector Wilhelm Grimm of his sleep with her outspoken nature. Quite different is her sister Jenny, who flirts with him. However, even the coquettish rebel Annette is not safe from love intrigues. Above all, she must fight for her greatest passion, poetry, as an aristocratic woman in the early 19th century. This biographical novel reveals unknown aspects of a well-known poetess and follows her life journey from the Münsterland to the Rhine and finally to Meersburg on Lake Constance. It shows that the poetess of the Biedermeier era was anything but conventional; she was a clever woman who followed her calling in a diplomatic, humorous, and decidedly unconventional manner.
