Annegret Richter, née Irrgang (born October 13, 1950, in Dortmund), is a former German track and field athlete. In the 1970s, she was one of the most successful sprinters in West Germany. Her greatest achievement is winning the Olympic gold medal in the 100-meter race in 1976. She became particularly well-known for her duels with East German athletes, especially Renate Stecher. She competed for OSC Dortmund. Her first international success came under her birth name Annegret Irrgang at the 1971 European Athletics Championships, where she won gold with the 4x100-meter relay team. At the Indoor European Championships, she defeated Petra Kandarr-Vogt in the sprint and won the gold medal.
