Primary school children usually master correct grammar intuitively, because they have learned the rules along with their language acquisition. But in primary school, third and fourth graders should also be able to work on grammatical phenomena consciously and systematically.

As a teacher, you always need material for this. Most of the time, however, you have little time in your challenging school day to prepare and conduct accurate grammar tests. Quick and simple things in the area of 'examining language' are always needed - it doesn't always have to be the complicated grammar test.

This volume contains tests from two subject areas: The chapter on vocabulary contains ten tests on the most important parts of speech and tenses as well as the four cases. In the Sentence Theory chapter you will also find ten grammar tests. They deal with punctuation and sentence elements. A final test at the end of each chapter, which tests all topics, rounds off both units.

The tests are always two pages long. Each test is followed by the appropriate solutions. An evaluation grid with points (in the solutions, the points are marked in bold) helps with the evaluation. Smileys give primary school children immediate feedback on their learning status.
