Author's text
Bert Hellinger, born in 1925, studied philosophy, theology, and education. He was a Catholic religious priest and school principal in South Africa. Hellinger studied all significant therapy systems, such as those of Perls, Janov, or Berne, to develop his own approach. His insights into the laws governing the connections and entanglements among family members led to the development of systemic family therapy in the 1980s, marking the beginning of the most effective and popular therapy system of the last two decades.
Blurb
Hellinger in a dialogue with a journalist: A lively and concise introduction to his thinking and work. In conversation with journalist Gabriele ten Hövel, Bert Hellinger shares numerous examples from his practical experience with family constellations and patiently and thoughtfully engages with skepticism and criticism. This results in a vivid, nuanced sketch of Hellinger's "phenomenological psychotherapy," his thoughts, and his work with clients.
