Andrei Pawlowitsch Kirilenko (Russian; August 26, Julian calendar / September 8, 1906 Gregorian calendar in Alexejewka; May 12, 1990 in Moscow) was a Soviet politician and long-time member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU). Kirilenko was the son of a craftsman. He attended a rural school and trained as an electrician. From 1925 to 1929, he worked in the Voronezh region and in a mine in the Donetsk Basin. He joined the Komsomol, the youth organization of the party, in 1929 and the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) in 1931. In the 1930s until 1936, he studied aircraft construction at the Rybinsk Aviation Technology Institute. Kirilenko worked as an aircraft engineer at an aircraft factory in Zaporizhia from 1936 to 1938.
