Product details
Devotional texts adapted for individuals with dementia, including didactic notes and an opening and closing ritual. Those who work with people with dementia know that they have a special relationship with God and that it is very important for them to live out their faith. This includes attending services and devotions. This poses significant challenges for caregivers. A service often lasts too long. The concentration of individuals with dementia is not sufficient to participate in a service for an hour or more. Additionally, their physical condition often does not allow them to sit for long periods in usually cold churches. Activities in facilities or shared prayers and discussions about Bible texts at home are a good alternative. However, family members, caregivers, or supervisors may feel hesitant to engage in Bible studies or devotions. The didactic notes are merely suggestions that can certainly be further developed. Those who generally follow the proposed structure can provide support and hope to their dementia patients, even without prior knowledge or a personal connection to the Christian faith. Please note that only the first three texts are written in detail. To avoid unnecessarily inflating the book, I have subsequently listed only the didactic notes in brief form and omitted them towards the end, as I believe sufficient suggestions have been provided by then. If Bible verses appear more than once, there are different devotional texts, while the didactics can remain the same.
