Analytische Philosophie zur Einführung

Analytical philosophy is a major movement in modern philosophy. It is characterized by the clarity of claims and justifications. This pursuit of clarity has led to the linguistic turn, meaning the dominance of systematic investigations into the meanings of utterances (philosophy of language) and the foundations of argumentation (philosophical logic). In the 1970s, the cognitive turn began: the goal is to understand mental abilities, with linguistic skill being just one of the important human capabilities. The shift from language to mind influences wide areas of contemporary philosophy by, for example, placing at its center the question of how consciousness, self-consciousness, and free will can be adequately described.
