Analyse von reinfiltrierten Schäden in Faserverbundkunststoffen

Fiber-reinforced plastics have developed into an important material class in recent years, especially for a variety of modern structural applications. A major advantage is their excellent mechanical performance at low material weight. However, a significant drawback remains the high effort required to repair these materials. Therefore, a new repair method for so-called impact damage is being investigated, which requires comparatively less effort. For testing purposes, sample plates made of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic are produced and damaged using a pendulum hammer. The repair resin is then injected into the damaged samples through an access hole, which seals the fracture points. Finally, the properties of undamaged, damaged, and repaired samples are compared.
