Anästhesie Bei Geschockten Patientinnen

The aim of this study was to describe the epidemiological profile as well as the means and methods of anesthetic treatment for female patients who experienced shock in the context of emergencies in obstetrics and the gastrointestinal tract. We conducted a retrospective and descriptive study of the records of female patients who were operated on due to emergencies in obstetrics and the gastrointestinal tract at the Hospital for Gynecology, Obstetrics, and Pediatrics in Yaoundé from January 1, 2011, to January 31, 2012. A total of 144 patients were selected for the study. The main pathologies that drew our attention were recorded and categorized. The obstetric emergencies included ruptured ectopic pregnancies, hemorrhagic placenta previa and retroplacental hematomas, hysterectomy for hemorrhage control, uterine rupture, and hemoperitoneum. Gastrointestinal emergencies included bowel obstruction and peritonitis. GEUR was the most common condition that could lead to hemodynamic instability. Half of the patients were between 25 and 35 years old.
