For Lieutenant Jacqueline "Jack" Daniels, the week doesn't start off well. Her partner has run off with his fitness trainer, she suffers from chronic insomnia, is racking up credit card debt with shopping sprees on home shopping channels, and to top it all off, a terrifying serial killer known as the "Gingerbread Man" is leaving mutilated bodies in her precinct. Jack is busy trying to avoid the FBI and their ridiculous profiling computer, attempting to find love through a matchmaking agency, dealing with street gangsters, and fending off the advances of a rude private investigator. As if that weren't enough, she must team up with her gluttonous partner Herb Benedict to catch the deranged killer before he strikes again... and Jack is at the top of his death list.
