A man climbs a mountain early in the morning. As soon as it gets dark, he wants to take one last step. Death and happiness have always been closely intertwined for Gerold Ebner. As a child, he witnessed his first death. Later, he personally brought death to two people: he freed his mother from the terrorizing grandfather and his best friend from his suffering. But has he become a murderer because of this? Once again, Gerold chooses against the law and thus finds his own happiness, which death takes away from him again...
