Alice Miller was born on January 12, 1923, in Poland. She studied philosophy, psychology, and sociology in Basel. After earning her doctorate, she trained as a psychoanalyst in Zurich and practiced this profession for 20 years. In 1980, she gave up her practice and teaching to focus on writing. Since then, she has published 13 books, introducing the general public to the results of her childhood research. She viewed her quest for the reality of childhood as a sharp contrast to psychoanalysis, which, in the old tradition, blames the child while sparing the parents. Alice Miller passed away on April 14, 2010, at the age of 87.

Blurb
In the first part of the book "At the Beginning Was Education," Miller presents the black pedagogy as a prerequisite for empathetic feeling and understanding among humans.
