Am a landscaper

The painter and woodcut artist Joseph Haas was born on January 27, 1889, in Sachseln (OW). He became known as Giuseppe Haas-Triverio. He adopted this artist name after marrying Secondina Triverio, who came from Biella in Piedmont. After completing an apprenticeship in flat painting and spending years traveling as a journeyman, he moved to Rome in 1911. There, he led a group of painters in a large hotel. Whenever possible, he visited museums, galleries, and libraries in his free time or wandered through the vast landscape. Italy became a second home that would greatly influence his artistic work. In 1923, he decided to give up his secure existence and became a freelance artist. During his travels, he got to know many countries in Europe, and later he went to North Africa for study purposes. The fascism in Italy and the poor economic situation forced him to move in 1941.
