The qualified health and nursing professional Andrea Würtz uncovered the inhumane conditions in a senior residence in Schliersee in 2020. Since then, she has become a prominent figure in the media. She writes for magazines and online platforms, participates in talk shows, filmed alongside Günter Wallraff, and has been referred to as "the" whistleblower in elderly care. Together with Bastian Klamke, she is now presenting her first book. The two authors aim to demonstrate what is still possible in elderly care, what caregivers can do instead of complaining and waiting for political action: What options do caregivers have to address grievances? Where can they seek help when (almost) nothing seems to work anymore? How can caregivers truly fulfill their responsibilities towards the residents? Würtz and Klamke do not shy away from revealing the dire state of elderly care in Germany. They do not sugarcoat, downplay, or sweep things under the rug.
