The relationships between Germany and Poland are still shaped today by the German crimes in Poland during World War II. Many people in both countries are unaware that tens of thousands of Polish children were selected, abducted, and 'Germanized' by the Nazis based on racial criteria. Hardly any other topic in German-Polish historical research has so many gaps. Many of those affected are still alive today, without knowing their true identity. This book brings together numerous shocking accounts of abducted children for the first time, creating a unique collection. The Polish editorial team of Deutsche Welle and the Polish internet portal Interia launched a joint multimedia project called "Stolen Children" for this purpose.
