Product details
Otto Schwerdt, born in 1923 in Braunschweig, fled to Poland with his family in 1936. Deported to the Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp in 1943, Otto Schwerdt survived the Holocaust along with his father, while his mother, sister, and brother were murdered by the Nazis. Otto Schwerdt, who has lived in Regensburg since 1954, began a few years ago to work through his story of suffering together with his youngest daughter, Mascha. The lengthy conversations became the basis for the jointly written harrowing account.
