Using the methods of ethnopsychoanalysis, Irina Bühler reflects concretely and practically on her work as a researcher within an inclusive research group of people with and without so-called disabilities. Against the backdrop of her experiences in a participatory research setting, the author outlines a way to make role conflicts, behavioral expectations, resistances, and forms of countertransference the subject of exchange, thereby utilizing them productively. The strong identification of researchers with the research field and their involvement in processes does not pose a danger to research results; rather, under these circumstances, it opens up opportunities for action in deeper relationships, where tensions can be alleviated, particularly between people with and without disabilities.
