Sendlinger G'schichten
German, 2014Product details
Sigi Sommer gained fame as "Blasius, the Walker." The writer and journalist roamed his hometown of Munich for nearly 40 years, capturing his impressions in highly successful columns for the Abendzeitung. His focus was on everyday life and the world of ordinary people. With a unique writing style and keen observational skills, he created images that transport readers back to the living conditions of the 1920s. His stories evoke smiles, laughter, but also reflection and pause. Sigi Sommer paid special attention to the district of Sendling, where he grew up. This volume now brings together around 50 of his most beautiful "Sendling Stories" for the first time, in honor of the 100th birthday of the unforgettable urban poet.
