From prison to the top of the charts: Giwar Hajabi, also known as Xatar, is Germany's only gangsta rapper who truly became a gangster and has lived what he raps about. Growing up in the Bonn ghetto, Hajabi quickly made a name for himself on the streets. Over the years, his dealings grew larger and his list of criminal offenses became longer: theft, robbery, bodily harm. After a spectacular heist on a gold transport, he eventually became an internationally wanted felon. He went underground in Iraq, was tortured for months, and was ultimately sentenced to eight years in prison in Germany. To this day, there is no trace of the gold.
