The sixth volume of the publication series brings together scholarly essays, artist interviews, workshops, and a roundtable discussion on children's and youth theater in Switzerland, which were created during a symposium in St. Gallen. The volume reflects on current developments and aesthetics of children's and youth theater, provides information about the specific conditions and opportunities in Switzerland, and engages in discussions with theater practitioners on issues of relevance, communication, and the professionalization of theater for young audiences.

The regularly published issues of the series "itw: im dialog" are situated at the intersection of theater theory and practice and publish current research on contemporary theater from the Institute of Theater Studies at the University of Bern. The series is edited by Beate Hochholdinger-Reiterer and Alexandra Portmann.
